ProsecuteHunter Foster

“There is insufficient evidence of any criminal conduct to present this case to a grand jury. We are declining prosecution of this matter and will close the case accordingly.”

Attorney General’s office — the Kohen Wiley determination, Oct. 19, 2026

That is the whole case, in her office’s own words: no grand jury, no charges, case closed — for the killing of a one-year-old. The demand of Kohen’s family and this coalition is simple: reverse the declination, present this case to a grand jury, and prosecute Hunter Foster. Her office answers to the people of Mississippi. Make it answer.

The Record She Made

Four facts. No spin.

Everything below is drawn from the Attorney General’s own statements and the public record. Read it, then make the call — you will know more about her record than her statement admits.

01

She closed it herself

On October 19, 2026, the Attorney General’s office declined to present Kohen’s killing to a grand jury and closed the case. No jury of Mississippians was ever asked. The words were hers:

“Insufficient evidence of any criminal conduct to present this case to a grand jury.”
02

She was the only door

Under Mississippi law (Miss. Code § 45-1-6(10)), the Attorney General is the exclusive presenter in cases like this one. There was no other office to appeal to, no second look. When she declined, the courthouse door closed — because she closed it.

03

The missing 37

Her office claims 86 concluded reviews of law-enforcement shootings, with force found justified in all but four. The public record does not carry that math. Only 49 case-level outcomes can be located — which leaves a gap no one has explained:

86Reviews claimed
49Outcomes located
≥37No public announcement
04

Her own rule for close calls

In a single statement on September 28, 2026, the Attorney General promised both of these. Judge for yourself which one governed Kohen’s case:

“Every case is thoroughly examined without fear or favor.”
“In the case of a tie, the benefit of the doubt goes to our law enforcement officers. The men and women who wear the uniform have earned that.”

The Federal Door

She is not the last word.

Kohen’s family has called for a federal civil-rights investigation, and that call stands. When a state closes its own case, the United States Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division is the remaining door. Support the family’s call: file a civil-rights report with the DOJ and reference the death of Kohen Kartier Wiley, Senatobia, Mississippi, June 14, 2026.
